Hootsuite is a popular social media scheduling tool. It recently got into ads with its purchase of AdEspresso recently and now its buying another company. It’s an interesting time for the company. It also looks like Hootsuite and Buffer are going in different direction. The industry is maturing and we will see more and more companies buying other ones. This is the nature of business.

Netflix blunder is nothing new now. This is the same thing every business is doing. Hate a specific group because it is socially acceptable. The best argument is that if you did this to any other group, that would be horrible. However, why is it acceptable to do it to white people? Netflix should be prepared for some loss in subscribers and a hit in their revenue. People will vote with their wallets. Be prepared.

Twitter looks to be marching towards censorship. This is looking more like a full control on what people can say on their network. Funny thing, when they were new, they wanted public discourse. Now, they would rather tell you it’s not good. Find out more down below.

Gather around techies! Let me tell you a story about Instagram. They made a Snapchat clone. The very least copied a feature. It’s called Instagram Stories. Yes, now Instagram has a 24-hour destructible picture. This story does not end. Not to be outdone, Snapchat released geostitchers. The battle is heating up! LinkedIn finally added a video feature. This is not big news because every other social network had a feature. It’s great to see LinkedIn finally jumping into it. I feel like LinkedIn is behind with lots of features. The website is a mess and needs a refresh. They have a piecemeal website. Some of the pages are modern and others are not.

Again, the government fails. It has made Android weak and compromised the encryption all for law enforcement. It’s just another example of the government failing to recognize its shortcomings. We also have a potential president not being prosecuted for carelessness. I do not care how high up you are, if you mess with national security, then you should be fined. Instead, she is just told how careless she was. We all knew that. We want justice. I, like many others, have lost all faith in the government. I do not think they know how to govern. Maybe we should give them a dummies guide to governing. At least the FTC is doing something useful. They are investigating Ashley Madison. I do think that site should be investigated. Not for what they do, but, for the practice. Pretending to have women on that site is deceptive.

It’s not a good way to do business. You should never trick people to buy your product. Anyways, let’s start the show!

Do you ever feel like marketing is becoming a daily event of catching up with new features, rules or programs coming out? I know I sometimes feel like that. The good news is, there are places like this to help. I also found businesses like Buffer and Hootsuite to be great resources too! It’s great to see Youtube creating apps for small businesses. This allows them to create their own videos or ask for help. Sometimes, SMBs do not have the time or energy to put in videos. Even though it is the most popular media consumed on the internet, it does take a lot of time. However, businesses should be figuring out how to do it well. There are so many apps out, you have options.

New things are coming. In the age of technology we all want shiny new things. Twitter redesigned its Android app and it is great. Twitter finally realized it was better to use the strengths of Android. I do like the new design. Switching accounts is a lot easier. It’s better in general. Even though Twitter is not as popular as it once was, it is still a better platform. The problem is, it still has not reached it’s full potential. Snapchat came out with a new Discovery Tab and it looks interesting. It gives more information on what people may be clicking on. It also allows users to follow the publishers. Them there’s Swarm. Swarm is interesting. It was once Foursquare, but Foursquare didn’t want Swarm, so, they split it up. That didn’t go over well and we have slowly seen Swarm become the old Foursquare again. I’m not sure if the strategy to split up Foursquare was a good one. It’s proving to be a mistake. Anyways, on with the show!
