E3 opens up to the public, Activision lays off some staff, Mass Effect dialogue

Activision lays off

Today’s Episode

Activision lays off some staff from its developers. This is because of Call of Duty and missing Q4 projections. It’s sad and unfortunate to hear people losing their jobs. However, Call of Duty is in a rut. It has had some upgrades to the game, but, releasing games every year makes it boring. We shall see if Call of Duty in 2017 will be different and better. I do hope it does. Even though I do not prefer playing the game, I still like seeing competition from these developers.

I’ve been playing For Honor open beta a little. It’s interesting. This could be a surprise hit for Ubisoft if they can keep it competitive and have an equal distribution between the factions. That was the problem with Planetside 2. In the beginning, one faction dominated. We shall see.

Senator live streams, Twitter marches to censorship and Netflix blunder

Netflix Blunder

Today’s Episode

Netflix blunder is nothing new now. This is the same thing every business is doing. Hate a specific group because it is socially acceptable. The best argument is that if you did this to any other group, that would be horrible. However, why is it acceptable to do it to white people? Netflix should be prepared for some loss in subscribers and a hit in their revenue. People will vote with their wallets. Be prepared.

Twitter looks to be marching towards censorship. This is looking more like a full control on what people can say on their network. Funny thing, when they were new, they wanted public discourse. Now, they would rather tell you it’s not good. Find out more down below.

Why some companies completely missed the point of the Super Bowl

Super Bowl

Today’s Episode

The Super Bowl. It’s a time for people to get together and enjoy two teams fighting for a title. One of the reasons why the Super Bowl got so popular is because of the commercials. Businesses decided to make their commercials spectacles that were funny. Football brought people together. It did not matter what political affiliation you were, it was time to watch a great game… hopefully. Now, that seems like an impossible task. This year some businesses decided to go political.

However, it was not all of them. Some still showed their funny side, but, others missed the ball. In this tense time in America, businesses need to understand that it is getting worse. You can stand for something, but, be prepared to suffer some consequences for that. Audi is the best example. They decided to make a commercial about gender issues and forget they were selling cars.

This episode is all about the commercials and other things that happened at the Super Bowl. Mostly, it has to with the messaging and making sure you do not do something that will set a group off or a smaller group. Find out more down below

PETA protects fictitious animals, Blizz and the ban hammer and Windows Coolness

PETA

Today’s Episode

Oh PETA. I grant you that you do some good work, this is not it. We are in the real world, so, why are you picking a battle in a fictitious world? PETA when after the world that is in a constant world. The only reason why they would take on this ridiculous crusade is for attention. Stick to the real world PETA. This was a dumb move. Gamers don’t like this and will think of your company as a joke.  Here more about what I say about this and gaming news down below.

Tech media stop virtue signaling and Apple, Google, Facebook shut up

Tech Media

Today’s Episode

Oh, tech media, what the hell is your problem. Yes, you should not bow to all of your reader’s whims, but, berating them is not good for your business. If your readers are telling you to report on tech more than politics, that may be something to look at. If this same group grows larger and larger, then, it’s time to listen. Writing an article about how they should shut up, means you should be doing the same thing. It’s time to stop pretending you have the moral authority to tell your readers they are wrong. Stop.

This leads me to the tech companies. Stop. Your arguments are terrible about the executive order on immigration. First, it’s not a ban. Stop calling it that. Second, no, your business was started by a White American. Last, we are not a nation of immigrants and stop using that argument. We were, but how long does it take to not be an immigrant?

Find out more down below.

Starbucks virtue marketing and why your customers are not monoliths

Starbucks Virtue

Today’s Episode

Starbucks virtue marketing. It’s similar to virtue signaling. Too close from what I’ve seen. This is a way for a company to capitalize on a political controversy for monetary gain. They have done it before and will do it again. The problem with this is the company equates that every customer is a monolith. That is not true. No one agrees with you 100 percent. I do not care how close you are with your friend, there will be disagreements. Starbucks is painting itself into a corner, if they are not careful, their sales could drop.

The reason is my generation. My generation is the best virtue signaling group I have ever seen. It needs to stop. You are not making a change and you are forcing businesses into stupid decisions. Culture is a pendulum. One moment, one idea is popular, then years later, it switches. This is usually because of the next generation coming of age. I hope Starbucks weighs its risks, because this is a bitter fight in American culture, be sure you know what this means.

Prey, Overwatch, Resident Evil 7, playing games over watching movies

Resident Evil 7

Today’s Episode

Resident Evil 7, what can you say about it? It was very different from Resident Evil 6. I played and finished the game this week. It scared the hell out of me. I was very gruesome too. If you cannot stand lots of gore, this is not the game for you. It is great to see the survivor horror back in Resident Evil. I talk about why I rather play games than watch movies. Hollywood you really make it easy to skip out on your movies. Your writing is lazy and you do not make new content. Do better. Find out what I think about it and more down below.

Facebook less personalized and why the media hates facts, logic, speech?

Facebook

Today’s Episode

Facebook is doing it again! They are copying Snapchat, but, really, just taking Instagram stories and putting it on Facebook. So, they are copying, the copy. They are putting new ads in Messenger and doing away with a personalized trending topic. It’s an interesting move for Facebook. I really do not know what to think about this. Then we have Ellen K. Pao. If you do not know her, she is the former CEO of Reddit. She’s back on the censorship train. She is calling on Jack to ban the President from Twitter. The funny part is she disabled comments on her Medium post. Find out what I have to say about this and more!

Google+ and LinkedIn update and why business should say about politics

LinkedIn update

Today’s Episode

It happened, LinkedIn update is a great step forward in 2017. They unveiled their new web design and it looks great. They were talking about it for months and now they are rolling it out. I will add that I do not have it yet. It’s a really slow rollout. If you have not gotten it yet, just sit tight. The update emphasizes content. This is just the push to be more modern on their website. It needed to happen. It’s the best gift for social media in 2017!

I also talk about the need for businesses to stay neutral. It is the best policy. Unless you can guarantee there is no backlash and you are on the side that wins, it’s a bad idea. If you want to know, Target paid the price for this. The bathroom policy good or bad had a consequence. Their sales went down 20 percent. It was a bad business move.  Find out why down below.

DICE BF1 DLC, Overwatch explains PTR and Division Last Stand

BF1 DLC

Today’s Episode

DICE had some teases for gamers with the BF1 DLC. It was a quick preview of a new tank and maybe a new elite class. I have and I am still enjoying BF1, I wondering what new items this DLC brings.  What is known about the DLC is the French are coming. Probably weapons based on the French army and that’s all everyone knows outside of EA and DICE. Halo Wars 2 beta finally reached the PC today. There is only one mode and it’s interesting. I played a few rounds and I was surprised how fast and fluid it was. I was not impressed, but, I will give it some time. Find out what else I talk about down below!
